Show Notes Transcript

You can’t have a sound mind without having a sound body. First responders are experts at taking care of others but really bad at taking care of themselves. Linda Yasin has dedicated herself to the betterment of the overall health and wellness of those that take care of us.  Linda is the first responder liaison to Xbody which focuses on a total body health system. First responders work hard at working their bodies but fall short of working their mind.

Kevin Donaldson:

Sit your ass down, down. Sit your ass down, down. Let's talk about soccer. It's time to stop Sit down sit down and strap in this is let's talk about suffering suffering. It's time to start the pain, the pain. This is gone. It's time for the sufferings podcast. Our body and mind speak to us in voices that are often loud and clear, telling us when it's time to move forward, or pull back so that we can live to fight another day. It is difficult hearing the words that your body and mind are telling you. The language that it speaks is often in a foreign tongue and cannot be understood. We need interpreters to communicate the depths and understanding of this message. Learning to listen, trying to comprehend and executing the messages from within our own selves is the most difficult conversation that we need to hear in order to survive. I'm Kevin Donaldson here with Mike Felice and on this episode of the suffering podcast we sit down with Linda yes to discuss the suffering of sound body sound mind. Linda is an expert at the breakdown and communication between the mind and the body and she teaches us how to heal it a little bit better. Thank you so much for joining us today. Linda.

Linda Yasin:

Kevin, my pleasure.

Mike Failace:

You know, it's funny when she walked in I didn't recognize her because I think one of the last times I saw her we were in Paterson and she was riding a side rails on my jeep when we're given boys for Christmas. So I only saw about this much of her through my window.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, that's isn't that how breakdance with breakdancing was invented. Just roll right off. Well, I want to give a big shout out to our marquee sponsor, that's Toyota of Hackensack. We trust very few people as first responders but Toyota Hackensack takes care of us. So if you're looking for a car, let them find you a car, just go to Toyota hackensack.com. Linda, before we get into it, because we got a lot to talk about today. And I also want to point out the elephant in the room. Yes. You're gaining weight the hurricane

Mike DePalma:

in a room. I did lose a few pounds. You did I did. But you found you found more. And

Kevin Donaldson:

we have areas that are very, very own hurricane Mike dipalma in studio to be a special guest host because as I said to said earlier, we're going to talk about sound body sound mind and there is nobody Linda, nobody in the world with a more jacked up mind than this guy.

Mike Failace:

There was nobody knew me a long time to get there's nobody more with an unsound mind or unsane unsound body. Mike De Palma.

Kevin Donaldson:

Before we get into anything, Linda, each week, we like to take a question from our audience, to find out what they want to know from us in this message. This social media question comes from Philip says, What is one thing first responders can do immediately to make themselves healthier?

Linda Yasin:

That's a good question. To become healthier, is to get your mind relaxed. Unfortunately, working on the streets is a little tough to go upon relaxing your body and your mind. But your health comes first. Which means you have to relax your mind sleep better, feel comfortable up and about the next day. There's a lot of offers that can be provided to a first responder whether it's a male or female to get them up and going

Mike Failace:

throughout. I mean, like sleep is a tough thing for law enforcement because we work shift work. So you're always you know, you're getting up when you should be sleeping. You're sleeping when should be getting up. And then that's that's a tough thing to deal with

Kevin Donaldson:

shift work takes years off your life. Yeah, it really does. And that's why we're we had you in here today because I think what you're doing, especially with X body is an amazing thing. Mike, what do you think what's what's something immediately that a first responder can do to get themselves healthier?

Mike DePalma:

I do agree with the mental health thing. I mean, I've always mentioned that and obviously things that happened in my career. You know, you should focus a little heavier on the mental health. I very much and that's why I was like you said it was very subdued.

Kevin Donaldson:

You were listening. So we brought back I want everybody to know we brought back the real

Mike Failace:

rule. He's been drinking caffeine for the last two hours so

Mike DePalma:

jacked up to come out of my veins right now.

Kevin Donaldson:

He's like that little kid from Talladega Nights. He's all jacked up on caffeine.

Mike DePalma:

You know, it's a jacked up. Do I agree? I agree with that. But exercise I mean, you know, it definitely can help somebody out. I mean, it changes your mind your body sleep, you know, which is a rarity, you know, for my career, but I say exercise and diet, exercise and diet. Mike, what do you think?

Mike Failace:

I mean, one of the first things and I learned as early on in my career is stay away from the Hoboken guys. Oh, yeah. Is that when I went through the academy with Mike and Nick Burke, and that was very, very unhealthy from the get go.

Kevin Donaldson:

You know, one of the one of the things I recently got into is was meditation. Okay? Alright, so meditation, it's very counterintuitive to the way my body works to, I'm going a million miles an hour, 23 out of 24 hours. So taking that short amount of time, whether it's in the sauna or out in the cold and extreme wet, just to quiet my mind to focus on my breathing. And it could be five minutes, it could be 15 minutes, it could be a half an hour, whatever. I have time for that day. It doesn't take a whole lot effort. Everybody thinks if you meditate, you got to sit down for half an hour. You don't. You do it for five minutes, and you instantly feel better. But I'll tell you what, so I'm a person of extremes. So when I meditate I need extreme forces coming on me so I'll either in the summertime I'll go into a sauna. In the wintertime, I'll go out and 23 Whether my underwear that's where Mike is usually in the woods looking at me. I got pictures of everyone. So minutes scary. The minute I lose concentration is no joke, the minute I lose concentration, I will either get cold or hot, depending on what kind of climate I'm in. So it's an amazing thing. So we got to learn to take care of our body. Phillip, thank you so much for sending that in. Keep sending in your questions. We'll try to get him on the air. So Linda, I want to read because you've got an interesting background, you really do too, for somebody to be so heavily involved in the first responder world such as yourself is. I want you to give everybody a little insight into your

Mike Failace:

Linda's been a friend of the show for a long time, but really don't know the real Linda.

Linda Yasin:

So um, I am a Chicago girl born and raised.

Kevin Donaldson:

So you came to Jersey to escape the violence. You could say I

Mike Failace:

came here to be a Yankee fan because she didn't like the Cubs or the White Sox. Really?

Linda Yasin:

Believe it or not. I'm a Bears fan. So you okay, you know, all right. I've always been a Bears fan from kindergarten as you know, graduating high school.

Kevin Donaldson:

Every true football fan is in some way in their heart a Bears fan just because of Mike Ditka. That's, that's that's the truth. 100%

Linda Yasin:

as

Mike Failace:

a child and Gil Sanders, but no, no real football fans are Eagles fans, but God.

Linda Yasin:

So you know, as kids, everybody, all us young girls were oh my god, Mike. You know, that guy was like the finest football player because we didn't know any better. You know, he was the coach. But we all thought he was one of the football players. Like one. Yes. So well. He

Mike Failace:

was very good football player force coaching.

Linda Yasin:

Yeah. So I've always been a football fan but of the bears coming from Chicago. Born and raised, young lady. I do come from a law enforcement family background. I do have uncles in the past who have been in the law enforcement field in the Middle East.

Kevin Donaldson:

You come from the Middle East.

Linda Yasin:

My family does. I'm first generation born and raised in Chicago. My youngest brother is actually a police officer in Chicago. Wow. That's a tough job. Now back to that kid. That guy. Yeah. So he actually started his way from the bottom as a correctional officer, then moved on to the streets as a crime investigator. And then now he's actually the director of his department. Wow. So he's actually one of the first Middle Eastern men in the United States who became a director. And

Mike Failace:

that's because of, you know, like after 911 the way America viewed people from the Middle East, and for him to raise his way through the ranks like that.

Linda Yasin:

I myself, am a C. C, assert member for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department. I've dealt with police officers throughout many businesses that I've owned in the past 28 years in the State of New Jersey.

Mike Failace:

Sure, sir, is citizens merger community. It's a community

Linda Yasin:

emergency response team. Yes. I'm for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department.

Unknown:

So you also do work with blue magazine.

Linda Yasin:

I do work with the blue magazine. I've known Danny for a good five or six years. We've worked well in the past, we still work well together. Now when future. So for law enforcement, to me, is whether I defend or don't defend an officer. At the end of the day, if I have a problem, what do I call? Yeah, I have to call 911. I'm going to have an officer that's going to show up to protect me whether I'm right or I'm wrong. At the end of the day, they also need to be protected they need to be verified.

Kevin Donaldson:

Now the right word to say Have You Ever Have you ever been back to Palestine?

Linda Yasin:

I have the last time I was there and about 10 years ago give or take do they

Kevin Donaldson:

view law enforcement with you know the in current current society right now law enforcement is lying. MIT climate it's a little tough. What's the view of law enforcement in Palestine?

Linda Yasin:

It depends. It depends on how you personally view it. Now, if you view it to the right view, obviously, you're respected. If you vote view it to the wrong view, obviously, you're not going to get anywhere, and it goes to any country. Anywhere you go, you're gonna have the same attitude from that country.

Mike Failace:

We have the same thing going on in America now. Yeah,

Kevin Donaldson:

you know, what a great country we live in right now, all of us, because we're given that freedom to be a dissident against whatever we want to be. But yet, like you said, when we call 911, no officer is going to show up whether you like them or not

Mike Failace:

dissident Listen to me, I'm not sitting around I was just gonna say means like, opposed. I was like, wow, that was a big dummy it down.

Unknown:

So when you call when you call 911.

Kevin Donaldson:

Linda, I want to draw your attention. Like I said before, one of the most jacked up mentally people you will ever meet in your life. I got some story believing

Mike DePalma:

some story, my mind goes much faster than

Kevin Donaldson:

think of a Picasso painting. 51. And that's his brain. Okay. Picasso develop his brain.

Mike Failace:

That's his brain on a good day.

Linda Yasin:

I'm sorry, Mike, that they have to pick on you.

Mike DePalma:

Listen, I'm used to

Mike Failace:

it. You know what it is? There's two mics in the room. And every time he's in here, we have a problem with let's just call him like, exhibit a hurricane. We'll call him exhibit eight. Well, you

Mike DePalma:

are the older Mike. I was the younger Mike.

Mike Failace:

I was the better look at Mike. And you were told there, Mike.

Mike DePalma:

At the time, I was just getting over some major hurricanes in my life.

Kevin Donaldson:

So you've you've segwayed into, into really the focus of health and wellness on first responders. And now we under everybody understands why that you have this family of first responders and you've probably seen them deal with things in some unhealthy ways. So, you know, what was that like? Going into that path? I'm sure. Did you ever think about going into law enforcement?

Linda Yasin:

I did. And I've wanted to, but

Kevin Donaldson:

children's size,

Mike Failace:

I was gonna say height requirements. I'm being very respectful.

Linda Yasin:

Unfortunately, my late father didn't believe back in my days where a female should handle a man's job. A lot of people Wow, that was, you know, again, 30 or 40 years ago. He's like a man whose job is a man's job. And a woman's job is either education for herself or education, education for her kids or family or a stay at home wife or mom

Kevin Donaldson:

said, you know, I don't know your father. And I'm not trying to disrespect your father, but that there were traditional gender roles.

Mike Failace:

I mean, those ideals

Linda Yasin:

have changed now. Yeah. Now it's a different atmosphere. You know, like I said, we have family now that female there's plenty of females in the family that are police officers, you know, detectives, corrections officers, you know, times have changed. Back during my days. It was a different atmosphere, different lifestyle, different mentality. Jumped 2030 years later, the whole world is on a different mentality.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, there's a value to women in law enforce.

Mike Failace:

I was just gonna say same thing. I feel there's a need for women in war stories. Absolutely. Some reason a woman goes to you go to a domestic violence call where a woman just got the shit beat out of her by her husband. Last thing she wants to do is talk to a male.

Kevin Donaldson:

We had. We had a an officer in here from a local department, Wanda Lee Czajka and Wanderley is similar build to you. And we're picking on Linda's height, obviously, but

Mike Failace:

her chair is raised up till she looks

Kevin Donaldson:

is slight of build like you are okay. And she has some value number one like you. She's a firecracker. Alright, I know you. I've known you for a little while now. And I've seen you. I've seen you yell. No, yeah.

Mike Failace:

We've seen her get loud. Yeah.

Kevin Donaldson:

Wanderley is is the same type of person because while you are physically not imposing, mentally, you're able to beat somebody down verbally, and you develop those other skills. So just because you never judge a book by its cover unless it's sitting right next to you.

Mike Failace:

Listen, the jury's still out on and we got to judge him at all.

Linda Yasin:

Listen, what if I was five feet tall or six feet tall at the end of the day, you know, you're gonna respect me for who I am not for what I look like or how tall I am. That's true. Whether I'm 100 pounds or 500 pounds. You want to know who I am and not what I looked like.

Kevin Donaldson:

I went to the academy with a girl. What was your name? Rachel avello and they had to specially make her duty rig. Because she was so tiny. The duty duty rig off the shelf would not go around.

Linda Yasin:

Let's And I understand because when I got into the CERT team at Passaic County, I had my pants specially altered to my waist and my height. So it's understandable. But listen, so the

Mike DePalma:

accomplishment for it is it really is. Yeah. So

Linda Yasin:

you can't judge, like you said, a judge, judge a person by its cover, you know,

Mike Failace:

like Mike went through like 42 pairs in his career because it kept expanding them.

Kevin Donaldson:

He's hitting you hard, bro,

Mike DePalma:

you are, I'm gonna, I'm gonna subdue myself. I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you the benefit of doubt. You helped me through some rough times. I'm gonna give you I'm gonna give you a pass know where we came from tonight.

Mike Failace:

So we can bring hurricane back.

Unknown:

He's trying to rally

Mike DePalma:

to tell a story started Good.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, when was there an event that made you focus on police health and wellness?

Linda Yasin:

So yes, I have also been a part of the Passaic County medical resource team, where we did a lot of training in mental health. And the most out of a survey of about 500 people, believe it or not 404 150 people came back with mental health issues were first responders, whether it was a police officer, a firefighter, and EMT and EMS, why it's because what they see and what they deal with, out on the streets or at the homes that they attend. And that was one of my motivational factors to go against

Kevin Donaldson:

becomes cumulative, the roof that pops

Mike DePalma:

up in the other series, He better get those words into the word that

Unknown:

they told us so I can watch.

Kevin Donaldson:

So I get I learned a new word every day.

Mike DePalma:

But I do have a question here. So with those mental health issues that you guys, I mean, this music studies, not well,

Kevin Donaldson:

you know, classic gender roles.

Mike DePalma:

It's the company you guy, I say it all the time. Just go with it. Just segue it right?

Mike Failace:

You know what I'm saying? Everybody a male or female is?

Mike DePalma:

I will repeat all those since the past, they're gonna come out. But what do you what do you offer to first responders when it comes to mental health? Because I mean, I'm also military as well, I did both 20 years and 25 as as a police officer, and it seems like when we would we know the resources are out there. And we're told the resources are out there. And it's so very difficult for us to go get them

Mike Failace:

because you don't want to show weakness. That's why most cops don't want to do it. But

Mike DePalma:

true. I agree. But what what is it? There's so many different things that, you know, other people offer or other treatments offer? You know, like me personally, you know, I did neural therapy for you, man, right? And I'm going to be totally honest. Like they they brain scan me, my brain was messed up. I'd say no, no, not like, no. Like, I'm surprised it was so much trauma so much that they actually found my you know, traumatic brain injury, there was so much trauma anxiety, like the colors. So I actually, I guess that was like an experiment. So I did 24 sessions. And when I tell you, I walked out of that treatment, and you know, over the weeks, I've never felt better, you know, and the brain mapping afterwards, it was such a total difference. But now, you come back around here to $3,000, you know, the insurance don't take it, you know, you know what I mean? So it's your house available, you just can't pay for it. Right? You're given the best treatment in the world that you know, and believe me, I've tried a military, whatever, I've tried every single thing, I'm not even, you know, I don't, you know, sway away from it. Like, I'll go after any kind of help. Because, you know, what we do here? You know, what I mean? We, it's to help other people and believe it or not all stories. They they can help, you know, and this is, you know, extremely important. So I mean,

Kevin Donaldson:

we how do we get to those resources that that you find available, like the mental health issues? Let's let's start there, because this is such a broad topic.

Linda Yasin:

So the resources, like you said, it's out there, you know, whether you go to Google or you go to a personal friend, you know, recommendations. My version of as an officer, again, male or female, it's what makes them comfortable. So, a patient will always attend a facility or deal with a person if they feel they're comfortable, if they feel that they're safe, that they feel that their issues are private. 99% of the time, a lot of people don't want their situations out there. One, they're afraid they may lose their job, or they're afraid that their colleagues or coworkers are going to look at them differently. Family members, you know, there's different factors, what goes through a person's mind than what the outside world may think. Now in regards to the mental health situation, whether patients have PTSD, or they're just so tired of what they see on the street, that the just doesn't let them go to sleep at night, they're just thinking, just replaying in their mind what they just saw and how they're going to fix it. Your mental health stage is all played by your mind, if that makes sense, explained,

Mike DePalma:

explanation makes sense. But it's,

Linda Yasin:

it's the explanation would be as you as a person should block out, but sometimes it's hard to do you have to block out what you see outside and save what's inside you.

Mike DePalma:

I agree. 100%. But it's, each of them could tell you it's extremely well, extremely difficult to

Kevin Donaldson:

Linda's point. We block out time to go to the gym, right?

Linda Yasin:

Correct. You block out time to go play cards with your friends? Do you have time to go to a bar friends? Do you have time to go sit in a bar and drink for an hour you used to. So if you

Mike Failace:

have an hour, that's what most clubs do is they block out that time correct to go drinking to do something that's counterintuitive to what

Linda Yasin:

but remember, everything is controlled by you. If you can't say it's hard, if you're gonna make it hard, you're gonna always say let me try. Sure I can do

Kevin Donaldson:

this. Our good friend Dr. Eugene Stefanelli says, when people use the word try, it's the lowest form of commitment.

Linda Yasin:

Well, then, that's where the problem is. It's either you do it, or don't do it. Correct.

Kevin Donaldson:

But again, I hate to use a Star Wars Yoda ism. It's do or do not try or try not correct.

Linda Yasin:

But again, your mental stage is all controlled by you. If you calm your mind or your mentality and you say I can do it, then you can do it.

Kevin Donaldson:

Now somebody like Mike and, and Mike Felice and myself. We have our brains are different. Okay, our brains when you see trauma, the synapses in your brain become damaged. So the fixing of that and I know they're they're trying different things with the advent of the legalization of marijuana and alcohol was the traditional way of dealing with the trauma. It doesn't do anything but anesthetize that's anesthetized, that's it's numbing. That doesn't do anything but in less mental health

Mike Failace:

disease worse, and it's almost putting off the pain correct because you're gonna wake up self medicate and wake up the next morning that pain is there. It's over and you still have the same

Kevin Donaldson:

from the prayer fire. Oh, here we go. Hashtag prairie fire. Mike's army. So one of the things one of the things that that does work and it's been proven to work is getting control over your body being happy with your body. Correct. Alright, so what are some of the what are some of the unhealthy things that you see you've seen through your experience that first responders do to their bodies, not even their mind, forget about their mind for a second their bodies like donut shops,

Linda Yasin:

I was just gonna say what they need go. Well, that's what they drank. But again, it's understandable like Mike said earlier, it's their the way their shift requires them some men and women don't have time to go home and have a nice meal during their lunch break. Quick

Mike Failace:

thing to do is stop McDonald's grab a quick burger and cheap so during the Go

Linda Yasin:

correct on the go something quick, something fast. But doesn't mean that that food is also that help bad for you. But it also plays a role on how you think in life because you're like alright, my life is on the go then I have to jump to this restaurant or that restaurant to grab something on the go there goes your health and there goes your mind because your mind is set to On the go. But it doesn't work that way you have to set your mind and your body to a program where you should be consistent.

Kevin Donaldson:

So you train your train your body and train your mind to sit down there. The reality of that and the tough part about that is is how many times it'd be called off your lunch break your dinner break Exactly yeah because call comes in into or

Mike Failace:

you're eating your dinner too fast because you know you're gonna get back to work

Kevin Donaldson:

correct and that will rear its head in some unhealthy ways. What is some of the worst things that you've you've ever seen in unhealthy behavior? I want to put this out to everybody

Mike Failace:

aside from looking to your left

Mike DePalma:

you know I'm gonna I'm getting to the point I have some Disney characters in a bag outside the window.

Mike Failace:

In the box the wind is blowing and hurricanes just gonna be a 556 times you're gonna be going on

Linda Yasin:

ice see that? I see that.

Unknown:

He's trying to break him mentally.

Mike DePalma:

I'm utilizing my mental health and utilizing that's great. Word Wait, wait, I have a thought right now. Oh point a.so. Now you have my son and daughter were like that, please. Like, you know what a thought fridge I'm like, Guys this

Kevin Donaldson:

is so not only do you have to train your body, you have to train your mind and you have to train your tongue.

Mike DePalma:

What? Wait, wait, wait, hold on I want to I do but I gotta get back to this. So now going through all this, you say, you know, obviously we suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder i Do you know, and you you get into a depressed state of mind, you know, I mean, in my past, you know, I've taken steps to better myself, you know what I mean throughout the years. So when you're combining all those things together, you know, you can't do this, you know, you got to train your mind. It's quite impossible at that time. So, what can you guys do at that time for your company? You know what I mean? Well, we're gonna

Kevin Donaldson:

get into xx body. I don't want to get too far too far away from that because I want to I want to spend a lot of time he started me out now. I know he's winding you up. And you know, you don't he's he's Let me translate you know, he's you're not thinking.

Mike Failace:

For the first time in years,

Mike DePalma:

I was gonna He's gonna make his way back and somebody's going to Nashville.

Mike Failace:

For the first time in years you had a taught

Linda Yasin:

lesson don't feel bad, right? So in Chicago, we say on, say why we'd say aunt, my aunt. When I moved to New Jersey. Everybody's like my aunt. And I'm like an aunt. I'm thinking of an aunt as a little insect on the ground. And I'm like, What are you guys referring to until I finally got it? 20 plus years later that an aunt is an aunt. So don't I understand how you feel, Mike.

Mike DePalma:

It's all the same. We all talk the same, but we all understand each other. You know, we have the big words. We might sway away from

Mike Failace:

Hoboken, and maybe your sister you never know.

Kevin Donaldson:

But what are you talking about? We've all come across some really unhealthy people that we come in contact with who are law enforcement, okay. And to me, it, it doesn't look good to the public. When an officer gets it gets out and has white powdered doughnut

Mike Failace:

on them and their shirts hanging out overweight. Looks

Kevin Donaldson:

like they slept in their uniform. They've just become this really unhealthy person because it's a perpetuating thing means over and over perpetuating thing right to stop. And it's a self fulfilling prophecy as well, you know, that, that on the go type of mentality leads to weight gain to hypertension to to just some really unhealthy things in their life. So what do you think out of your experience, what is the worst you've ever seen?

Linda Yasin:

The consents, the consistency of them, are him and her I should say are an officer first responder as their lack of self control.

Kevin Donaldson:

Okay, that's a good point.

Linda Yasin:

That's so it's a lack of self control. Again, everything comes through your mind, if you set aside an hour for yourself, we're not going to say anything more, anything less than an hour a day makes a difference in your lifespan, whether it's your brain concentration, your body weight, your body health, the way you feel the way you think the way you even look. Give your body an hour a day. It deserves it. You know, you only live once well, I shouldn't say you only live once we live every day when we allowance we only die wants to know if you let yourself live every day by putting an hour of your day aside for you, then you have a longer lifespan.

Mike Failace:

You know, I mean, you say it all the time to first responders generally care more about other people than they care about themselves when you're paid to take care of other people. I don't even know how to responders don't take care of them. So Right. Correct. That's understandable. That's where I think that's where something like x money would come in. All right.

Kevin Donaldson:

So that brings us to we'll start to get into X body because all these unhealthy behaviors that are exhibited by law enforcement, they rear their heads in different ways. And it can affect your job performance.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. Because you're frustrated if you can't

Kevin Donaldson:

handle heart because you're too You're too heavy. Or you're running you can't run down anybody by the end of your career because you're overweight you're you're you're Feeny on the side at

Linda Yasin:

the end of the day, what is all that call and for that specific person frustration, if they can't get out of the car, because they're significantly overweight, they're frustrated. If they can't make a time for themselves or their family, they're frustrated with something

Mike Failace:

that go either way. They could either say, I'm going to try to get myself better or you get so frustrated you're gonna fall deeper into it. I

Kevin Donaldson:

say screw it. Yeah. It's like going down the hill with no breaks. There's no point in staring.

Linda Yasin:

Correct. But that's all and Where Where does all that end into your mental health stage? So all that is you either make yourself better because you want to be better, are you just going to frustrate yourself to bury yourself with your own hands?

Mike Failace:

First Treat yourself to death is really what it's gonna be. That's literally what it is. If you put

Linda Yasin:

an hour aside for yourself, just like you may want to put an hour for your kids, you know a lot of people have children. Don't you want to have time you don't you want to live to see your child, graduate college, high school, high school, college, maybe get married, have kids see your grandkids? Just that hour a day will make a difference again, in your lifespan.

Kevin Donaldson:

You don't want your kid saying I just wish I had one more day when you have the power to give them one more day almost absolutely most aside from you know, freak accidents. And that's unfortunate,

Linda Yasin:

right? That's an unfortunate, you know, circumstance. But if you have control, again over what you can do on a daily factor, then that's in your hands. At the end of the day, you can't blame anyone but yourself. Whether you want to better fire yourself or just again, bury yourself right back to the ground.

Kevin Donaldson:

So how did you get hooked up with X body? Next body? He's one of our proud sponsors, right. And they've been with us for a little while now. And the reason it was such a good fit for the suffering podcast and everybody to get involved is because the things that they're offering for first responders can give them one more day with their children.

Linda Yasin:

Exactly. So it's funny you say that I actually met a colleague of mine in X body or at X body at a police function 2021 maybe early spring of 20 There was a police function that was hosted by the honor Legion, the New Jersey honor Legion, and I believe at the time it was called the President's mall if I'm not mistaken.

Mike Failace:

I am a proud member of the owner Legion. And presidents ball is their big current in your

Kevin Donaldson:

you're not a proud member, you're the poster child.

Linda Yasin:

So I was at this event and a like Jerry's kids employee of ex parte was there. And she turned out to be a good friend of one of my best friends and we met and she went back and spoke to the owner about me and know my work ethics and the owner called me and we came to an agreement how to change or butterfly the practice to make it a better place for first responders.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well it's funny because first the first responder world in general we're very loyal people. And here's how we do business. All right. Hey, Mike, I need my house painted. Do you know painter Do you know painter? Right? So I need a mechanic Mike. I know you know a guy I'm going to use your guy because they're going on or so when you start getting into that first responder field and you build that loyalty like hey, go see X body because they took care of me when I had this correct. You know Mike like they do take care of erectile dysfunction. I just want to let you know you know

Mike DePalma:

this is getting really serious.

Linda Yasin:

I definitely am not commenting on that as you saw no comment on my behalf

Mike DePalma:

the hurricane to come out I don't think there's enough cops in this now pissed if

Mike Failace:

you really knew what erectile dysfunction meant.

Linda Yasin:

This is why I'm keeping my company to myself my promise.

Mike Failace:

So his finger his finger doesn't go well that's not erectile dysfunction. Like you

Mike DePalma:

know, this is an example of very jealous men.

Linda Yasin:

Yeah, no comment. At the end of the day, expiry will make sure that you go home happy.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, one of the things I want to get you I want to I want to spoke to you about that doesn't mean happy.

Mike Failace:

Watch your mouth. actually watch your mind.

Unknown:

Right now you are you.

Mike DePalma:

Because I'm I'm telling I'm thinking my father will come down and give me

Unknown:

I love that woman is

Mike Failace:

love to be in the car with him. I know he's gonna be yelling and screaming.

Kevin Donaldson:

But one of the things one of the very specific treatments that you offer can be used as first responders get older especially well, obviously just men is the testosterone therapy. So as we get older, our testosterone drops, it leads to weight gain, it leads to sleep problems. It leads to worse performance. But you're a police officer. You What are some of the contradictions with being a police officer because we can't, you know, there's certain rules that we have to let we get drug tested.

Linda Yasin:

Alright, so our guidelines are and again, these guidelines are for your health purposes, I should say. So the protocol with that is you get blood, blood work done. You get blood work done from every nerve in your brain to every nerve going down through your toes. And based off those results is how you get treated. Now if your body needs testosterone injections, we'll give them to you. So

Kevin Donaldson:

you start off doing a complete body scan

Linda Yasin:

Correct. Body lab work Blood. So blood work, yes, a blood workup.

Kevin Donaldson:

So you need a, b, c and d correct.

Linda Yasin:

So you can come in and say, Hey, I feel tired. I haven't slept last night, I need an energy booster because I want to go to the gym, can I get an extra shot of testosterone? Absolutely not. Just because you think you want it, that doesn't mean your body needs it. It's only provided to you based off of what your lab results consist of. One, it's to protect you. One we want you to live longer, giving you too much testosterone can cause a extreme heart attack, which we don't want to do for you. Because your body doesn't need it. Top of it off, if you're young and you start off testosterone shots, while you're young, it's going to give you a hard time as you get older having kids then your body will start producing, then now you have a problem.

Mike Failace:

If you're taking testosterone when you're younger, then your body stops

Linda Yasin:

producing. And of course, so you know you'll have you'll have problems not having kids. You'll have a problem having kids. There's just there's just a lot of issues that fall in that. Again, it works, you know, hormonal and balancing for a body is the goal here.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, it's so what's your what's your boiling it down to is it's a true it's not a health and wellness center. It's a true medical

Mike Failace:

science

Linda Yasin:

and science. Perfect. Yeah, so it's all about science, it's, you're gonna get treated based off what your body needs. Now what you think your body needs, it's based off the results that come from your body.

Kevin Donaldson:

So sticking with that testosterone therapy, if somebody were their body needed that extra testosterone, what are some effects that we can expect to get as a result from that?

Linda Yasin:

Well, your your numbers are going to start to climb to the normal factors based off your age and your your weight, your lifestyle becomes better now you're gonna start feeling energized, you're gonna sleep better, you're gonna be more productive, more functional. There's a you know, less frustrated, more active.

Kevin Donaldson:

Was a fixed Hoboken accent

Mike DePalma:

slept like seven years you got something for that?

Linda Yasin:

We need to imbalance you. That's what we need to do. We got to balance your body out.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, he's he's been a big detractor. Like, we've had conversations Mike dipalma and I, he's like, I'm not going that place. It's for women. Like seriously, that's what that's what I'm gonna say Should

Linda Yasin:

I leave it or not? 90% of our practice our men. Okay.

Kevin Donaldson:

So you don't have to tuck it in like we were talking about. That's why I'm very hesitant.

Mike DePalma:

You know what I mean?

Linda Yasin:

It's it's a wellness center and a majority of our patients are men believe it or not. The men come in they're not just for testosterone therapy. They come in for even spa treatments. They see are your constitution.

Kevin Donaldson:

Yes. And I was forced to get here we go. So when when we were exploring, possibly teaming up with X body. I was forced by our very own Cathy Roman to go in there and get a facial. Okay, and you got it was totally different than what it was.

Mike DePalma:

I can see it didn't work.

Kevin Donaldson:

Right. My eyebrows

Mike Failace:

guys, I did have a facial and a females I did have a facial totally different things. Yeah. So Kevin went out there for real facial.

Kevin Donaldson:

So it was it was not relaxing. It was very good. It was very healthy. But it wasn't what I thought it was. It was it was actually for the health of my skin. Absent listen, I'm making fun but Kathy was unbelievably good and professional and she really knows her stuff like hey, and she's into it too which is kind of creepy. She's really like into it. She's like, Yeah, look at this and look at this and look at this. I'm like I really don't want to see that stuff. Just just go to

Linda Yasin:

what she was giving you the educational background of what you needed to know about your skin. Now mind you expiry is a functional medicine practice where again, we treat you internally. And then you got the spa factor where you visit Katya to treat you the external part where you can keep the beauty on the inside also visible on the outside.

Kevin Donaldson:

Do you think they can Botox his face shut and

Mike Failace:

she just talked about beauty on the outside after he went for facials? Very very good

Unknown:

to me. draw people in on your side you

Mike Failace:

don't want to bring in a big words that you don't understand.

Linda Yasin:

So back to Mike situation. Yeah. So our clientele is there. majority of them are men. A lot of them that attend the gym they come in for weight loss programs or they like to be put on a dietary program. They come in for immunity boosters mind you a lot of you officers are on the street dealing with a lot of dirty stuff I should say I shouldn't say anything other than that. You know whether you're dealing

Unknown:

it'll deal with the coin clientele point well taken. So you want to

Linda Yasin:

cleanse your body you want to give your body your your body a good immunity booster. So again, you know, the men factor of treating themselves internally is a whole different baseline off from a female. Female likes to do her, you know, treat herself from A to Z versus a male is like, Nope, I need this. Let me get this done. I'm out the door. But that's actually the wrong mentality. You also want to treat yourself from A to Z. So you know, what is wrong? In your case? You just told us what it was.

Kevin Donaldson:

We want to be better officers. That's that's the bottom line. I don't think there's many Julie's right, I

Mike Failace:

want to be better and you want to be able to do your job more effectively.

Kevin Donaldson:

Do you remember radiation? Do we do what I'm sorry, I'm a radiation because I want to I want to turn into the Hulk.

Linda Yasin:

No. Trust me, I want to be the Hulk sometimes my solid gamma

Mike Failace:

rays, right? One thing I want to bring, you can

Mike DePalma:

experiment on me.

Unknown:

When he's angry, you're walking experiment.

Mike DePalma:

Just imagine myself as the whole Jesus.

Linda Yasin:

So as a better officer, let's do this. To make you a better officer.

Kevin Donaldson:

You'll be programmed better firemen better EMT,

Linda Yasin:

responder, first responder in general, you know, we give you a program where you know, you should eat better, sleep better.

Kevin Donaldson:

Because sleep for a first responder in general, is probably the most valuable thing that is so. So deficient in our lifestyle, lifestyle.

Mike Failace:

And that leads to the mental health issue.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely, absolutely. So lack of sleep, will give you that mentality where like, you know what I could, if I haven't slept in 12 hours, I can go on for another 12 hours. That's actually the wrong way of putting your your life at risk. Not only are you putting your own life at risk, you're putting the life that's around you, whether it's a co worker, or a person that you're trying to defend or protect. You're not helping anyone by you staying up, let me stay up another 12 hours of the day, you're just not as sharp, you're not you have to, again, give your body that one hour a day, to beautify yourself. And I'll give you that consistency of sleeping eight hours a day or seven hours a day. And I'll give you that focus to work the next day and be a better person with your colleagues or people on the street or whomever you're dealing with.

Mike Failace:

So one thing I wanted to touch on when you brought up like weight loss and you looked at Mike and brought up weight loss,

Linda Yasin:

I didn't enter that.

Mike Failace:

Tell us about this gut health that you guys.

Kevin Donaldson:

Actually the gut, the gut health,

Mike Failace:

I had a thought leader because I want to I want to know about this gut health.

Kevin Donaldson:

gut health is a big

Linda Yasin:

issue. It's actually an extreme big issue. So I'll give you a small story. I had two police officers. Both officers work together on the road, they're both in the same patrol car 910 hours a day, 12 hours a day, complained of back pain consistent. And they've went to you know, an orthopedist, spine doctor, they've had MRIs done extreme physical therapy, both officers have the same issue. So they attend, they call me and they're like, we're gonna try your office out, you know, again, we did the full lab work results in our package on them. They did the gut health, and they tested both positive. Being positive for gut health is called it's an H. Pylori. So it's a it's like a virus, or a germ in your gut. So when the exam comes back positive, it's like an infection. Now that infection, where are your guts located there, you know, right in your back, your stomach, you're bloated, you're tired.

Kevin Donaldson:

How many times you were going in headquarters ripping off our keepers to get to the bathroom. And it sounds funny when I say it, it is funny when it happens. But that's a

Linda Yasin:

big that's unhealthy, extremely, that's very unhealthy. When they both tested positive for this exam, obviously, we know you know, they share the same car, they're touching the same cups, they're touching the same equipment. So it's a virus. So by them, testing positive, they got treated, you know, through their, you know, treatment program, whether it was an antibiotic or a supplement. And believe it or not, both of these officers came back 10 days later, for a follow up, saying I just felt like I touched the sky. Because now they feel like they're not bloated. They're not as tired. No more back pain were most of the doctors and physical therapists were telling me your back pain is all consistent from the belt that you wear all day, and sitting in their cars, cups think, yeah, but in all reality, you also have to give your gut a moment to heal your body because everything that occurs in your body sits in your gut.

Kevin Donaldson:

That's one thing that I've spent a lot of time on because I I've had a bad stomach since I was a little kid. And I took me about three or four years to totally repair my gut biome to the point now where I'm a big believer in fasting. Alright, so I'm a big like 1618 hours every single day, because I finally got it. Like you're when you put your muscles under stress in the gym. Let's say you're doing biceps today. Well, you're not gonna go back tomorrow and do biceps. I

Mike DePalma:

know. You're not gonna sore it though.

Kevin Donaldson:

I did I saw your kiss. I'm like, Okay, you can be like thunder lips, all right. But you're so that that time I spent repairing my gut 3434 years, that fasting portion because you fucking threw me off dude. Good for

Mike Failace:

you fucking to me. He lost his train of toilet says his

Mike DePalma:

extracurricular like his mind which is abnormal. So

Kevin Donaldson:

if I'm not I'm not gonna go back in the gym and do biceps if I did biceps prior. And so your your your gut is constantly under attack because we're always eating we need it to survive, we don't need it to survive as much as we think we need it to survive. So why not give your gut a break a break and then start repairing with supplements and probiotics and eating different foods and trying to get back that good gut bacteria? Is that something so if I were to take one of these gut health checks, which I do plan on doing, because that's one of the hot buttons even when we had the meeting with with the owner, I really want to do the gut health check to see how far repair to my and how much do I need to go? Because it went it literally went from me being in the fetal position when I went to sleep at night to sleeping well.

Linda Yasin:

Alright, so your gut also controls your mind again, second brain.

Mike DePalma:

But isn't it like, honestly, I am going to be sick like that is actually where, like I blowed you know what I mean? And a lot of it goes on the no series, like a lot of like, you know, and I used to work out all the time, you know, I kind of just stepped away, but it's I blowed here, you know what I mean? It goes to different places, you know? Definitely probably test positive for that. you test positive for a lot of ship. No. So bloating. I'm trying to get information. I'm trying to know it's it's trying to like understand

Kevin Donaldson:

it's a big deal. When when you're you you're bloated for all of your layers, it becomes normal.

Mike DePalma:

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous. Now I hit like 50. And that's all awesome. So what

Kevin Donaldson:

I learned is, over time, you can you can handle this stuff while you're younger, all the crap food that you're eating. But what that crap food does is wash a lot of the good bacteria in your stomach. So as you age, you cannot digest the food any longer, and you develop things like, you know, diverticulitis, or irritable bowel syndrome because of those. Like he's like Beavis and Butthead.

Mike Failace:

He's checking it off. Yeah, I got that. I got that particulars I got.

Kevin Donaldson:

So it's a mental health issues. But I didn't I wasn't even aware that these tests existed, it would have made a life a lot easier for me. You know, and I think a lot of officers, a lot of first responders in general out there. If they knew a test out there, say, Hey, let me go through a battery of tests because the normal practitioner, general practitioner doctor is not going to check any of this stuff. Of course, now why?

Linda Yasin:

Why don't you should always, I shouldn't say we should always go, let's pretend our body is a battery in a vehicle. Right? If you don't, if you let your vehicle just park in your driveway for a week, two weeks, three days, what happens to your vehicle, battery goes dead battery goes dead, and you can no longer start and you have to, you know, give it that little energy booster, give it a little jump to, you know, get it up and going. But if you can't get that vehicle going on a consistent base, what happens to the vehicle, it no longer works, and you have to compare your body to to a battery. If you can't take care of your body. You're not going to keep going.

Kevin Donaldson:

I also liked that IV infusion that you got there. The vitamin infusion that's more

Linda Yasin:

for an immunity booster. So it's more to help your body rejuvenate.

Unknown:

It's going to make him look better. Not even perfect nothing. Mike, you're gonna let them pick on you like that.

Mike Failace:

Listen, I'm used to it. All stems from jealousy. It all stems from jealousy,

Kevin Donaldson:

talking these big things right now I see his mouth open. I just want to go like this.

Mike Failace:

When he's talking about a your bloating, look, I'm under here. No, you're fat.

Kevin Donaldson:

You're not sure that's a good point. That's a good point. At what point is, is there a medical issue versus a listen? Are you just fat?

Linda Yasin:

No, there's nobody that is just fat. You know, obesity. Obesity does come from

Mike Failace:

yeah, here we go. And you know,

Linda Yasin:

basically does come from inheritance. But again, it's how you want your body to be created. You let it create. Now if you don't want to live that obese life, you'll take care of it better.

Kevin Donaldson:

And then once your body starts getting into shape, it does affect your mind as well.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. If you're active consistently if you're hydrated consistently. If you have a better mindset, your whole body becomes a better person.

Mike Failace:

You know, you always feel better about yourself, man. Elite when you're in shape, of course, you know, of course, you know when you're, you know, like I said, coming out of the academy I never felt better in my life because we're running every day and you know we're in shape we got our bodies in shape getting ripped off by

Mike DePalma:

the guy selling the

Mike Failace:

for the roach coach.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well there so that's a prime example. You're taught from the very beginning of your police career. That's where you get your food. Yeah. From

Linda Yasin:

some food truck or McDonald's or Burger chain. Right, right.

Mike DePalma:

You saw just There you go. You

Linda Yasin:

programmed your mind that okay, running to a food truck is just a quick bite to eat, but you don't realize that that quick bite to eat is going to infect you or affect you, internally, all the way up to your mind.

Kevin Donaldson:

So what is there anything in in X body's cadre of treatments that guards against inflammation?

Linda Yasin:

eating better. That heals inflammation. What immunity boosters heals inflammation.

Mike DePalma:

That's That's what immunity boosters.

Unknown:

The immune boosters were just

Mike DePalma:

specific ones is this like different ones immunity

Linda Yasin:

an immunity booster is an IV infusion with a whole bunch of vitamins that your body needs. It's not that we're not giving you an infusion because you want one we're gonna give it to you because your body needs it. Well, is

Mike Failace:

that done by a blood test?

Linda Yasin:

Also? Absolutely no everything is anything that is given to you. into your body is always based off your blood results.

Kevin Donaldson:

Guys, I think we need to have a suffering podcast. But

Mike DePalma:

let me just bring one here today.

Mike Failace:

Why don't why don't we do a remote show from there.

Kevin Donaldson:

We just need to have a spa day. All of us sit there in a robes, slippers.

Mike DePalma:

I want to go on the IV thing and go to health. Yeah, I call it whatever it is.

Unknown:

So when we were

Linda Yasin:

a spa day is Katya you'll have a bunch of needles and a blade against your face.

Mike DePalma:

Ready, you want to get rid of a lot of on a serious note, I'm going to be seated like this is X for what kind of fear? Yeah, it kind of does worry me because my my dad, it was exact same. And my dad died at 50 have a massive heart attack. So there's a big, big history and sometimes, you know, I think about him like, wow, you know, these are some of the things that I remember, you know what he was going through, you know what I mean? So,

Kevin Donaldson:

I had that same feeling when I hit 42 Because I was the same age that Elvis was when he died. I will just think I'm trying to the greatest singer ever. Listen? Well, no. So the you know, the, it's, it's all connected. It's all everything

Linda Yasin:

said. So in regards to your father's massive heart attack. Again, you have to put your body on a nutritional guide. You have to guide your body to, you're going to say I want my body to feel good. Forget about looking good. You want it to feel good. Because once you know that your body feels good, you're automatically going to know that. Wow. Now I looked at all the

Kevin Donaldson:

cards against you when you look good. And when you feel good guards against depression, good anxiety it guards against

Mike DePalma:

it's hard to tell them a time not to use a whole container of soft and as pasta. So it is it's counterproductive.

Kevin Donaldson:

So can I can I it's counterproductive to make those big words. That two syllables.

Mike Failace:

Yes.

Kevin Donaldson:

So it's the reason I touch on inflammation is it's one of the big reasons that I went gluten free because gluten causes inflammation. And my kids are also gluten free because gluten and children inflames the brain. And that's where behavioral issues can become right right so this affects this and kids as we get older, and we're eating all this crap

Linda Yasin:

at the same time. You're crack you Creek

Kevin Donaldson:

it's it's such an

Mike DePalma:

you know like but did we ever think about this when we were kids? No, never it was never my my gamma waves inside my like

Kevin Donaldson:

because the they sold you on that food pyramid which is actually upside down? Yeah, they tell 60% grains off of me to like really 60% grains and like, do 10% fats? Well, it's actually reversed. It should be reversed where you should be 10% grains. You shouldn't even eat that you don't need it. But you should be good healthy fats.

Linda Yasin:

Your body needs a lot of green

Mike DePalma:

olive oil, olive oil. I mean olive loaf on one of the bread and you go to school. That's it.

Kevin Donaldson:

Man, ladies and gentlemen phrases why you don't eat that way.

Mike Failace:

Any ones Mike got that Zhao,

Kevin Donaldson:

you know, and he wonders why he's so jacked up. I am I'm gonna listen, I'm back. I'm back. I'm back. This is this is back. This is in education times for everybody. It really is. And that's why we that's why it was so important for us to get you in here. So we can educate. Let's talk about some of the other programs that we haven't had a chance to discuss yet that xx body offers.

Linda Yasin:

Okay, so we do offer a lot of the hormonal treatments. We always any hormone imbalancing will get balanced for you. There's a lot of physical therapy a lot of dietary programs that we have allergy testing as well whether

Kevin Donaldson:

the blood sensitivity test as well. Correct, whose blood is very sensitive?

Linda Yasin:

He was just confused for a second.

Mike DePalma:

I'm trying to I'm trying to process you're making me multitask.

Linda Yasin:

We also do bone density, which is radiation free.

Kevin Donaldson:

Versus density. That's a great one. Yes.

Linda Yasin:

So we usually recommended for patients about 30 and older. Because it's radiation free, at least you know, especially the active ones that are in the gym, you want to know where your bone stand at

Kevin Donaldson:

is that more beneficial to women because as they get older, the osteo

Linda Yasin:

class and actually benefits both male and female. The best part about it is it is radiation free,

Kevin Donaldson:

made out of porcelain what is

Linda Yasin:

and it's very, you get a very detailed report that the doctor will go over with you. On top of that, we do a lot of supplement counseling, we are against pharmaceutical grade medication, versus we are putting you want to supplement program and everybody makes their own supplements. Yes, we do make our own supplements so you're given natural medication versus pharmaceutical grade where pharmaceutical grade is they're gonna give you a medication that's good for one thing, it'll mess up another versus a supplement. It's good for what you need to be treated on and it's not going to affect anything else. Because it's all natural.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well that's that's the big movement now everything you know no more of these chemicals put in there because you know years they've been saying stuff sugar free but that sugar alcohol they put in airs is correct correct. Do you better you're better off eating real butter not the margarine crap.

Linda Yasin:

Right at that point. That's all it's all salt and so far.

Mike DePalma:

Like pointing you know so much when you inflammation like to just stay home as a kid like just read everyday like

Kevin Donaldson:

I learned by ABC a great memory Toto. Thank you. Thank you.

Mike Failace:

But you know, and I have to say, Kevin and I had the opportunity to visit X body.

Kevin Donaldson:

Yes, it was an amazing,

Mike Failace:

amazing place you out there a lot of information. Yes, yes.

Linda Yasin:

It's a practice of 25 rooms. It's a brand new facility. You will both visualize what it looks like. It's very

Mike Failace:

it's a very comfortable place. Like when we walked in here it just seems like a comfortable place to be like you walk into a doctor's office you like you know you're sitting in a waiting room, even in a waiting room was nice.

Kevin Donaldson:

Yeah, they're waiting room was very, very nice. And it's it's a beautiful experience. I felt it's just there's so much information. I mean, there we couldn't we were there for we were supposed to be there for about a half an hour. We ended up being there at least an hour and 20 minutes.

Linda Yasin:

And Kevin had a hard time putting through his mind everything we did. He's like, Wait, this is too much to comprehend right now.

Kevin Donaldson:

Yeah, because I'm trying I'm trying to use it. I'm like, Oh, forget it. I'm gonna be there for about a few days. It has to be focused. It's got to be focused one thing and maybe just shoot me up before I go in and

Linda Yasin:

just another thing we do brain mapping. Oh, no.

Mike DePalma:

I would love to do that right now. Just to see from what I did it when I was away, you know what I meant to be the

Kevin Donaldson:

worst city when demand

Mike Failace:

is one favor from

Mike DePalma:

my actual brain man.

Mike Failace:

comes in for brain mapping. Can I sit there watching going?

Linda Yasin:

No, he's got his own private room. Nobody can watch.

Kevin Donaldson:

Mr. Mister, I don't know this shit. Yeah. Mister. is now are you believer?

Mike DePalma:

I mean, yeah, I mean, I'm I'm open to anything. But this is. I mean, it seems that's what that every single says she was talking.

Linda Yasin:

Let me make this easy for you. Though Kevin and Mike saw the office. It's a practice of 25 rooms. It is woman owned woman empowered. It's a facility run and owned by females. It's a practice of 40 females. So each room has your own treatment plan with your own specific employee that has to treat you whether it's a nurse practitioner, whether it's you know, a phlebotomist, whether it's the nurse, it could be any type of service that you need, you're going to have a specialist that will attend

Mike Failace:

it. You lost a mouthful of bottom over rice phlebotomy job last night. It's the girl that takes your blood right? Like they would say it all these different rooms that you go into are based off of your original bloodwork. Currently now they'll take you say okay, you need your bloodwork says you need this, you go into that

Linda Yasin:

original visit what we like to do for your original visit, which is the first day that you tend to practice, we'll do your bloodwork. We'll do the brain mapping for you. We'll do the H Pylori, which is the gut health. We'll do the pseudo scan we'll do every single test that your body do and give her results for and then we'll schedule you a few weeks out based off those results is how you'll get treated. So if your h pylori was positive, then you're gonna get treated for that. If you have cardiac issues, you'll get treated for that if you have low vitamin issues, you'll get treated for that. If you want to do you know anything in the spa relationship, that's your protocol to do bone density, you feel you have aches and pains in your bones or have history of osteoporosis or arthritic problems in your family, you get treated for that every test will have a treatment plan for it.

Kevin Donaldson:

So it's important because Mike is Mike dipalma is a living example of why it's so important to have you in here. Because you took a guy who didn't sounds very girly, and you know, we're Ultra masculine. And now it's turned around to the point. And he's not the only one that's that's thinking this way, right now. It's turned around to a point where, well, you know what I this, this can make me live a healthier, happier life.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. You'll see the nutritional guidance and you could say, well, the first thing she's going to ask you is what do you eat and what do you drink and then from there, she will guide you to a better health factor. She will put you on a specific program, what to eat, what to drink, when to eat, when to not you know to drink, when not to eat, when to eat. So that way when you sleep at night, you're comfortable when you wake up in the morning you're not grouchy or uncomfortable or bloated or feel like you have to sit in the bathroom for a couple hours. It everything is based off what your body needs is how your program gets. Really

Mike Failace:

what this is all about is listening to your body. Absolutely, yeah, your body's gonna instead of you telling your body what you need, your body's

Linda Yasin:

gonna tell you what you need correct and we're gonna provide your body only what your body needs

Kevin Donaldson:

and I love the fact that yours you personally are focused on first responders. That's the whole reason we started our nonprofit dental development project is to help first responders just give them a little bit of relief mentally but the nice thing about you is not only are you taking care of the mental you're starting at the core you're starting at the foundation because the bottom line is you can't build anything will be built without us with a crack

Mike DePalma:

I wish this was around when we first thought and honestly and I'm biased coming in it I spoke to him about it because I was treated by the VA you know I mean an Iraqi right but again

Linda Yasin:

exactly. So what were they were doing, they were throwing you on some Xanax, you know, Percocets are so far they were giving you all the narcotic stuff that just made your body feel like it was dead.

Mike DePalma:

No it most of the majority of the stuff on a normal person it would like if that would put you to sleep it would keep me off for days. So I was abnormal. When it came to listen, the

Linda Yasin:

first time I ever took a narcotic medication because of it was abnormal.

Unknown:

I just thought myself Oh, you went to the academy? When

Kevin Donaldson:

was he ever normal?

Mike DePalma:

I was quiet. Listen, I was you know that Nikki was the abnormal one to use.

Linda Yasin:

Narcotics will put your body to very Yes, I took narcotics for the first time due to a procedure that I had taken and put me to sleep for three days, literally for three days. And by the time I woke up I was like, You know what day is it

Mike Failace:

a narcotic screw with your brain?

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. Absolutely

Mike DePalma:

no, not prior to the the I never took medication not even painkillers ever as well. You weren't like this. That was it?

Linda Yasin:

Well listen painkillers doesn't pretend to there's a lot of stuff that fall into the family of painkillers. So just because you you know there's certain pharmaceutical grade medication they're gonna say well, this medication is good for you to go to sleep at the end of the day. What are they letting you sleep but it ain't. It's not working. It's not working for your body. It's just not working out. It's just putting you to sleep because it's just it's gonna shut you to asleep but you don't want to do that you want to sleep naturally you want to sleep comfortable you want to sleep your eight hours and being wide awake the next day

Kevin Donaldson:

so let's go to we know this one off the top of our head go to export to us.com Absolutely facility this facility that your your work with is right here in Wayne. And it's very close to here it's I've we've been there it's beautiful. Is there anything else that you want to plug? Um,

Linda Yasin:

besides just coming to X body for Mike and Mike Listen, we can't get a third mic in here can wait. X body will you know will put you on a mindset work, keeping you active keeping you hydrated, making you feel like you're a better person to become a better person. Eating you know putting you on an eat well by it, putting you on a hydration diet. All that will make you a better person. But again, it all plays with your mind if you want to be a better person you shall be a better person. If you want your body to heal, you will follow the protocol of what your body wants. And you're gonna give it

Mike Failace:

and if you want your mind to heal also.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely.

Kevin Donaldson:

So Linda, we're coming to the end of this thing here and we ask every guest the same same question because everybody seems to have a different answer. You've witnessed all this different suffering in in help trying to help first responders with EX body. What do you think that's taught you?

Linda Yasin:

And has taught me the fact that everybody's different, which I knew, which I knew, which I knew exhibit a but again, it also taught me that I should look out for my body based off what my body is asking me for.

Mike Failace:

I was gonna say have you become healthier yourself? Absolutely working for Absolutely,

Linda Yasin:

absolutely. I've become a whole different person. I am a person where previously where I was, you know, my allergies made me sick. Have a cough to small cough made me sick. Now I'm, you know, on a program where I do my immunity boosters, they do my you know, injections, everything is not normal climate for me, which made me a better or I should say my body better than

Unknown:

it used to be four foot two, but I just want to

Mike DePalma:

I want to put on record right now. I am the smartest person in this room.

Linda Yasin:

I'm glad you

Mike DePalma:

aren't just great. You need to put that

Mike Failace:

you're not even the smartest person on the mind. So we did go in and for the women listeners we have the Alto. Yeah, they have. Remember they had before and after pictures of girls who went through weight loss? Absolutely. It was a couple of them work there.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. So a couple of our girls or colleagues at the office, did the program themselves and they went from you know what they started off to their goal, which is losing 20 3040 or whatever their goal was

Kevin Donaldson:

and they reached it. There's no better advertisement and then

Linda Yasin:

experimenting on yourself. Absolutely. And they have a better health factor. They they look better, they feel great. And again, a majority of your services are covered by insurance.

Unknown:

There's a big question. That's that's a good one.

Kevin Donaldson:

So most of your most of your services services are covered by insurance.

Linda Yasin:

Absolutely. So most of the services at our facility are covered by insurance. lab work is covered by your insurance, anything that is not covered by insurance, we will advise the patient at the moment. If the patient wants a specific test that is not covered by insurance, we will always advise the patient we will never let the patient be blindsided. Obviously, any spa services that's never covered by insurance. Unfortunately, that's you know, self pay. But if anyone mentions the suffering podcast, or my name, you'll get a nice percentage off any services that are cash pay. So

Kevin Donaldson:

remember, when you go to export a us.com or you go in there mentioned the suffering podcast, Linda, we can't thank you enough for coming in here. My pleasure. This was wonderful. Like you said, I know I'm gonna go I've already been I've already been definitely I'm going up for bloodwork. I want the whole thing you need a face you need like 10 facial

Mike Failace:

facial removal, like just put something else on.

Kevin Donaldson:

Well, I got to get Linda, we thank you so much for all this. This has been eye opening really really wasn't a lightning. It was Hurricane Mike. It's always a pleasure to have you in the studio. You could leave I do love No way. He's sleeping.

Mike DePalma:

For the injections.

Kevin Donaldson:
